Warning Description: Special Weather Statement
Warning Date: 8:38 PM EST on March 2, 2010
WarningSum:...Black Ice Possible Tonight Across North And Parts Of Central Georgia...
Warning Message:High pressure will build into Georgia tonight as the latest winter
storm continues to move away from Georgia. The snow and rain that
fell early today has just about ended...however many roads remain
wet. Temperatures will begin falling after midnight tonight...and
in some areas temperatures will drop below freezing. This will
cause some of the water on the roads to become ice. While the
northwest winds will dry some of the roads...those roads in
sheltered areas will become slick.
Due to the nature of black ice...motorist will not see the icy
patches until it is too late. Motorist traveling across north and
parts of central Georgia tonight should exercise caution and be
prepared for icy patches on roads.
