WarningSum:...Heat Advisory In Effect Until 8 Pm Edt Sunday...

Warning Message:The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a heat
advisory...which is in effect until 8 PM EDT Sunday. The advisory
is for those areas north of a line from LaGrange...to
Forsyth...to Louisville...and south of a line from Franklin...to
Conyers...to Washington.
Temperatures across the area will increase to the upper 90s to
near 100 degrees this afternoon...as well as Saturday and Sunday
afternoon...with heat indices of at least 105. Nighttime
temperatures will only drop into the mid and upper 70s...which is
not cool enough for critical nighttime relief from the daytime
high temperatures.
Remember...the elderly...the very Young...and people with heart
conditions are most at risk in extreme heat. People should check
on their friends...relatives...and neighbors who may be at risk.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A heat advisory means that a period of dangerous heat is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will create heat index readings of at least 105 degrees and very
warm overnight temperatures. Drink plenty of fluids...stay in an
air conditioned room and stay out of direct sunshine.
