Warning Message:A heat advisory remains in effect until 8 PM EDT Thursday...
for the area generally west and south of a line from Blue Ridge...
to Dawsonville to Homer. 
Temperatures are expected to range from the mid to upper 90s
across much of the area this afternoon and again Thursday
afternoon. Abundant moisture will couple with these high
temperatures to produce heat index values of 105 or better each
afternoon. Nighttime temperatures will only drop into the mid and
upper 70s...which is not cool enough to provide critical nighttime
relief from the daytime high temperatures..
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A heat advisory means that a period of dangerous heat is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will create heat index readings of at least 105 degrees and very
warm overnight temperatures. Drink plenty of fluids...stay in an
air-conditioned room and stay out of direct sunshine.
Remember...the elderly...very Young...and people with heart
conditions are most at risk in extreme heat. Friends...
relatives... and neighbors should check on people who may be at
risk.
